You've Finished Unpacking

Now What to Do With Your Used Boxes
Home sweet home, all of your boxes are unpacked and everything is in it’s place.  Everything except for a large pile of empty cardboard boxes.  You can break them down and bring them to your nearest recycling distribution center, but there are a few other ways to make those boxes a tad more resourceful.
Gardening
If you have a green thumb, you’re in luck.  The cardboard from your boxes can be used in your garden to help eliminate weeds.  You can use pieces of cardboard to cover up areas where the weeds grow.  Once you cover the weeds with cardboard, you can use bark or mulch chips to hide the cardboard.  The cardboard will stop the weeds from receiving sun light and in turn they will stop growing.
Even if you aren’t a gardener, you might know someone who is.  Even better, why not donate your cardboard boxes to gardening clubs in your new community.  The members of the gardening club can share your boxes for their own gardens.
Make a Little Cash
If your boxes are in good condition and can handle another move, you might be able to make a little spare cash by advertising on craigslist or boxcycle.  This may take a little more time to get rid of the boxes but if you’re willing to wait, field phone calls and e-mails, it may be worth your time.
Donate
Of course, donating should be an easy way to get rid of your boxes.  There are always organizations within your community that can use your used boxes.  Check with local libraries, charities, churches and shelters.

No matter what you decide to do with your boxes, make sure that at the very least you recycle them with your local recycling company.  There’s no reason to waste all of that cardboard.
